Privacy notice

Effective date: November 1, 2026

DriverOrbit is a Windows driver-maintenance application. This notice describes the data handled by the current application and its subscription service.

Device information and local records

DriverOrbit reads installed-device names, hardware identifiers, driver providers, versions, package names, device status and computer manufacturer/model information to compare compatible drivers. Inventory reports, downloaded packages, backups, checksums, installation history and preferences are stored on your PC. Reports you choose to export can contain hardware identifiers. You control whether to share those files. DriverOrbit's activation service does not receive your driver inventory or backup files. Uninstalling the app preserves recovery history, backups and activation data; removing the application does not cancel billing.

Online driver checks and downloads

DriverOrbit uses Windows Update, Microsoft Update Catalog and supported OEM sources. Catalog searches can send hardware identifiers, vendor/device information and related search terms to those sources. OEM catalog and package requests can identify the computer model or the package requested. These services receive the normal network information needed to respond, including your IP address, and handle it under their own policies. DriverOrbit does not send the full local inventory to the subscription service.

Subscriptions and activation

Gumroad handles subscription checkout, payment details, receipts and cancellation. DriverOrbit does not collect payment card details. When you activate or refresh Pro, the app sends your receipt license key, a hashed device identifier, a generic PC label, an activation identifier when available and a random request value to the DriverOrbit activation service hosted on Cloudflare. The service passes the key and product identifier to Gumroad to check the membership, refunds, disputes and subscription end dates. Gumroad's response can include purchase and customer information; DriverOrbit's service uses the membership fields to decide access.

The activation database stores a one-way license digest, hashed device identifier, activation identifier, PC label and last-check time. It does not store the raw license key, customer email, payment card details or driver inventory. Short-lived hashed request counters limit abuse. Cloudflare processes network traffic and may handle operational data under its own policies. This app does not include advertising or a separate behavioral analytics system.

Storage, retention and controls

The app encrypts its saved key and activation record with Windows protection for the current user. Signed access is bound to a device and expires unless refreshed. Activation records remain until removed through the activated-PC controls or administrative maintenance. Removing an activated PC deletes its activation database record; it does not erase Gumroad's separate purchase records or cancel the subscription. Local files remain until you remove them. To cancel recurring billing, use your Gumroad membership controls. Other providers retain their records under their own policies. Contact Prosper Technologies using the support details on the store listing for questions about this notice or activation records.
