Simple Diffusion includes its own Python and NVIDIA image engine. You do not need to install Python, CUDA or developer tools separately.

AMD, Intel, CPU-only, macOS and Linux generation are not supported by this release. The lower-memory option does not substitute for validation on smaller GPUs.

How to inspect network activity and check the local-generation claim
Install in three steps
- Install the small app.
Download Simple-Diffusion-Setup-0.6.1.exe (169 MB). Windows setup installs just the app. No engine download or companion files are required during installation.
- Download the engine when you are ready.
Open the app and review setup. First-time engine and model setup downloads approximately 9.69 GB combined (engine 2.75 GB + model 6.94 GB), in addition to the 169 MB installer. The full first-time transfer is approximately 9.86 GB including the app. Existing verified files can reduce later downloads. Accept the model license and choose Set up & download. You can dismiss setup and return later. Downloads are verified and support pause/resume.
- Create locally.
The engine is installed separately in local app data and retained across ordinary app updates. Model files stay in your chosen folder. No manual ZIP extraction, separate Python or CUDA installation is needed. Allow at least 20 GB free plus image storage. After setup, generation works locally.
Make your first image
Choose Photography, Illustration or Stylized 3D. Describe one clear subject, choose a format, then press Create image. The first image loads the model and takes longer. Fast is useful for trying an idea; generation time depends on hardware and settings.

Where your work lives
The app keeps images, projects, references, installed packs and settings in its Windows user profile. You may choose a separate model folder. Changing that folder does not move or delete the previous model. Prompt/settings recovery is local; save a project to restore a reference image or painted selection.
Uninstall or reinstall
After running the installer, open Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps and search for Simple Diffusion. The publisher is Prosper Technologies and the version is 0.6.1. You can also use Uninstall Simple Diffusion in the Start menu. Unpacked development copies are not installed apps. Close and reopen Settings if it was already open during installation.
If something goes wrong
- Use Settings → Help & diagnostics → Copy diagnostics, then paste the reviewed report into the GitHub issue form. The report omits prompts, images and personal folder paths.
- Use Set up / repair for missing or damaged model files.
- Close other graphics-heavy programs or use the lower-memory setting if graphics memory is exhausted.
- Use the 169 MB version 0.6.1 installer. It requires no companion files. For interrupted engine downloads, reopen setup inside the app and resume.
- Use the official issue tracker for reproducible bugs. Never post private prompts, images, account details or personal paths.
