Privacy policy

Simple Diffusion is developed by Prosper Technologies, the developer’s trading name. Image generation takes place locally on your Windows PC.

This policy explains how the Simple Diffusion desktop app and this product website handle information. It covers the GitHub edition and, where distributed, a Microsoft Store edition. Microsoft separately handles its Store accounts, downloads and update services.

What the app accesses and stores locally

The app processes the descriptions you type, reference images you select, painted masks, generated images, and recipe packs you import or install. It saves project names, prompts, generation settings, seeds, gallery thumbnails, references, masks, and draft-recovery information in its Windows user-data folder. Models are stored in your chosen model folder, and exported images are saved where you choose.

This information is used to generate images, reopen projects, show your gallery, reuse settings, and recover your workspace. Reference-image processing and AI inference run on your computer. The app does not upload your prompts, reference images, masks, projects, or generated images to Prosper Technologies or a cloud image-generation service. We do not receive those local files or use them to train AI models.

Original generated PNG files contain generation metadata, including the prompt and settings. Local JSON project/gallery files also contain this information. Review files and their metadata before sharing them if your prompts or images are private.

The app checks hardware and software information such as your Windows version, NVIDIA GPU name, driver version, graphics memory, system RAM, and available disk space. These checks support compatibility, setup, and local generation. No app account is required. Image creation does not require access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or precise location.

Analytics, advertising and automatic reporting

The current app contains no developer-operated advertising, usage analytics, telemetry collection, or automatic crash-report upload. Prosper Technologies does not sell your local prompts, images, or project information or share them for targeted advertising.

When the app uses an internet connection

Download, hosting, Store, and browser services can receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address, request time, requested file or page, and technical connection headers. We do not include your creation prompts or images in engine/model download requests. These external services handle their records under their own policies:

After required engine and model setup is complete, image generation can run offline.

Diagnostics and information you choose to send

Settings → Help & diagnostics → Copy diagnostics creates a report on your clipboard. It contains the app and Windows versions, GPU/driver and memory information, model installation/revision status, and engine version. It excludes prompts, images, projects, and personal folder paths. Copying it does not send it to the developer. You decide whether and where to paste it.

If you submit a support request or an AI-content report, we can see the details and account information you voluntarily provide through that service. We use those details to respond, investigate the issue, and maintain the app. GitHub issues are public: do not post private images, private prompts, credentials, personal addresses, or sensitive diagnostics. Start with a non-sensitive question if you need to arrange another contact method.

Retention, access and deletion

Your local app content stays on your PC until you delete or move it. You can export images, delete gallery items and projects through the app, and manage model, engine, export, or backup folders using Windows. Close the app before manually removing its user-data files. Keep a backup of any work you want to preserve.

Deleting a gallery item may not remove other copies in saved projects, reference files, exports, backups, or cloud-synced folders. Uninstalling the app does not guarantee removal of your separately chosen model folders, exports, or backups. Windows backup or folder-sync services you enable may retain additional copies under their own settings.

Prosper Technologies cannot remotely access or erase files that remain only on your PC. For information you voluntarily post on GitHub or another external service, use that service’s editing/deletion controls or contact us about a record we control. We retain support information as needed to address requests, maintain security, and meet applicable obligations; external-service retention rules also apply.

Security

Engine and model downloads are checked against pinned file sizes and SHA-256 hashes. The app uses local inference and restricts the interface from contacting remote image-generation services. These measures do not provide an absolute security guarantee.

Prompts, project JSON files, original PNG metadata, and generated images are not encrypted by the app. Their protection depends on your Windows account permissions, device security, encryption, and backup settings. Only import files and recipe packs from sources you trust.

How you can check the privacy claims

The application source is private. A privacy policy, a diagnostics field, an installer hash and an offline demonstration do not independently prove the absence of telemetry. We have not published an independent privacy audit or a complete network capture for this release.

You can inspect network activity during setup, idle use and image generation, and test generation after disconnecting from the network. See the network verification guide for expected connections, practical steps and the limits of those observations.

This website

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Prosper Technologies has not added advertising, tracking pixels, analytics scripts, third-party font requests, or contact forms. Fonts and images are hosted with the site. GitHub may process normal hosting and connection records under its privacy statement.

Contact and policy changes

For privacy questions or requests, contact Prosper Technologies through the official privacy/support issue page. Submit only a non-sensitive description; the issue page is public. Include the app version if relevant.

We will update this page when the app’s information-handling practices change and revise the date above. Changes that introduce new collection or sharing will be described in the updated policy and any applicable app notices.

Application, model and content licenses

The application source is privately maintained. The public GitHub repository distributes product information and binaries; it does not grant an open-source license to the application. Third-party components retain their respective licenses and notices.

The image model is Stable Diffusion XL Base 1.0, governed by the CreativeML Open RAIL++-M license. Review its restrictions during setup. Generated outputs require your review, and the app does not guarantee rights in any particular output.

Style packs contain recipe data; they do not train on your images or add a separate model. Published example images were generated locally with the corresponding recipes unless specifically identified as separate brand artwork.
