CLEAR INFORMATION FOR YOUR FAMILY.
A little clarity
about privacy.
Orvio keeps family records on your computer. Browsing the web still connects to outside services.

Your family’s information
Orvio has no Orvio account system or advertising SDK. It does not send family activity records to Prosper Technologies. Profiles, approved and blocked sites, parent settings, history, activity, requests and Explorer Passport progress are stored locally.
Parent credentials and protected guard data use Windows safeStorage when available. Ordinary browsing records are JSON data, not an encrypted vault. Other programs running as the same Windows user can read or alter writable local files.
The Parent Dashboard offers 7, 30 or 90-day record retention, exports and clear controls. History and activity are separate from bookmarks and Passport progress. Removed child profiles remain recoverable until restored or permanently removed.
Search, pages and reading
Ordinary Orvio search recording starts off. Matched help-seeking phrases are excluded from that search log. This does not guarantee confidential browsing: visited addresses and page titles, Windows software and outside services can still reveal activity.
The page-text scanner runs locally in an isolated environment. It does not upload or retain its scan buffer. Ordinary browsing history can still retain page titles and URLs. Read Aloud uses installed local Windows voices.
Games, sums and artwork
The built-in games and creative tools make no network requests. Calculator work is temporary. Artwork drafts are held in memory per child and picture while Orvio is open. Closing Orvio discards unsaved drafts.
Choosing Save picture writes a generated PNG only to the location selected in the Windows save dialog. Orvio does not upload that picture. A folder you select may be synchronized by other software, such as OneDrive, according to that software’s settings.
Outside services
Websites receive connections to their servers. Search providers receive submitted search words and network information. Kiddle is the default web search provider; other supported engines can be chosen. Optional encyclopedia lookup sends search words to Simple English Wikipedia and checks Kiddle article availability.
Family DNS providers, Cloudflare and AdGuard, receive DNS requests. Websites, search and DNS providers have their own terms and privacy policies. External sites can use advertising, accounts, cookies and analytics. Turning off encyclopedia lookup does not disable ordinary web search.
Microsoft handles Store downloads under its own policies. A Microsoft account used with the Store is separate from Orvio, which does not require its own account.
This website
This site contains no advertising scripts, analytics, forms or tracking cookies added by us. Screenshots, fonts and page assets are served locally from this site; fonts use your system’s installed typefaces. Screenshot previews and tabs run in your browser without sending us their state.
GitHub Pages hosts the site and handles web requests under GitHub’s privacy statement. Following links to the Microsoft Store, GitHub or other services takes you to those services and their policies.
Questions and support
Contact the project through GitHub issues for general questions. Do not put passwords, children’s names or browsing records in a public issue. For a suspected security defect, use the repository’s private vulnerability-reporting flow.
Read the filtering limits alongside this information. Orvio does not control other programs or guarantee that every page is suitable.
